Moscow - Vinitaly International will be held in Russia on November 20 and 21, respectively in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. In this emerging market, in which Italian wine - a market-leading product - is increasingly in demand, 180 wineries will be either present or represented by the main importers (13) at the event hosted by Vinitaly-Veronafiere. In addition to tastings and B2B meetings, the other events scheduled are bound to have a strong impact on Russia’s capital city and on the city of Tsars, starting from Vinitaly's opening of the International Week of Italian Cuisine in Russia. Special sessions organized by the Italian Wine Ambassadors, certified by the Veronafiere brand, will also illustrate the varietal excellence of Italian regional wines, also with a special networking dinner between importers and a select group of Italian companies (on November 21 in Saint Petersburg). The President of Veronafiere Spa, Maurizio Danese, said: "Among the worldís top 10 importers, Russia is the country in which the demand for Italian wine has grown the most, with a 343% increase in the last 10 years. Once again, the 14th edition of Vinitaly Russia intends to help strengthen Italian leadership in this market, to capitalize on the huge appeal that "Made in Italy" products have in this country. Russia - Danese continued - is an emerging marketplace, which, despite being recently outdone by Japan and Sweden, is now the sixth market for Italian exports in the world. If the positive trend of the first 8 months of 2017 were to be confirmed (+45.6% y/y, 134.6 million Euros), Italy may be able, once again, to increase its exports above 200 million Euros, bringing the figures back to the levels recorded before the recent crisis." Organized in cooperation with the ICE-Agency as part of the Plan for the Extraordinary Promotion of "Made in Italy" Products by the MISE - Ministry of Economic Development, Vinitaly Russia will be the sponsor with more than 200 bottles of wine by the 'Italian Bazaar', on November 25 and 26 at the Embassy of Italy in Moscow.
