Vietnam: Italy-Asean Week to showcase lifestyle to vietnamese

Italy-ASEAN Week 

Hanoi - The "Italy-ASEAN Week" program in Hanoi, scheduled between November 17 to November 27, will showcase in full spectrum the best of the Italian lifestyle to Vietnamese audience with various exciting activities, ranging from Italian cultural fair, scientific and linguistic conferences to classical music concert and food tasting. Italy, as a founding country of the EU, stands ready to contribute to ASEAN's strengthening by sharing with its 10 Member States knowledge, experiences and by enhancing strong cooperation in all sectors. To support and make more effective commitment, as well as to raise awareness of the genuine interest and of the importance that Italy has placed on the relationship with ASEAN countries, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a unique initiative establishing the first "Italy-ASEAN Week", the Italian Embassy in Hanoi said in a statement. Within this extraordinary framework and benefitting from the unique season the Italian-Vietnamese relations are experiencing, the Embassy of Italy in Hanoi has worked with partners and sponsor to offer to Vietnamese audience a rich and multifaceted calendar of events.

Accordingly, on 18 and 19 November, an original "Italian Trail" in Hanoi will take the public along an exclusively designed path enriched by booths for Italian food & wine tasting, exhibitions of Italian design creations, such as, Ariston, Maserati and Piaggio, musical performances and cultural presentations. Screening of Italian films and an exhibition of paintings by Mrs. Laura Federici will take place at Casa Italia, which has been famous as a centre of excellence for the promotion of the Italian culture.
 Under the cooperation of Embassy of Italy and Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology, an ad hoc Conference will be organized on November 21 where the experts and academics will discuss the crucial issues of nutrition and food traceability fully in keeping with EXPO Milano 2015 philosophy and with Vietnam FoodExpo 2016, in which Italy participated as guest of honor.


On November 23, the University of Hanoi, in cooperation with "Universita' per Stranieri" in Perugia, will organize a linguistic conference aimed at taking stock - with professors and researchers from Italy and other ASEAN countries - on the recent spreading of Italian language. On the same day, the award-winning Italian pianist, Mr. Nazareno Ferruggio, will duet with the Vietnamese pianist Pham Quynh Trang at the Vietnamese Youth Theatre to celebrate also from a musical standpoint the traditional friendship between the two countries.Within the framework of the 2nd Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World, on December 4, the young Italian chef Marco Gallotta from Rome will introduce to the Vietnamese public some Italian traditional recipes, offering a unique experience of Italo-Asian gastronomic-contamination. According to Italian Embassy in Hanoi, the program was expressly tailor-made to meet the expectations of the Vietnamese public.

The Italian-ASEAN week in Hanoi is co-organised by Italian Embassy in Vietnam,  Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development, Italian Trade Agency and Uni-Italia. The series of events are supported and sponsored by pioneering Italian companies in Vietnam, such as, Ariston, Piaggo, Maserati and Hung Yen Knitting & Dyeing among others. According to Italian Embassy in Hanoi, such a unique cultural initiative will also prove the perfect anticipation of the upcoming celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Italy-Vietnam diplomatic relations in March, 2018.
