Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditions for Italian investors

Hanoi – Vietnamese government will create favourable conditions for Italian investors, commented Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on receiving Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, in Hanoi on Tuesday. Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, is leading Italian business mission to Vietnam from November 27 to 29. On this occasion, he also attends the 4th session of the Italy - Vietnam Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation. On receiving the Deputy Minister Ivan Scalfarotto, Vietnamese Prime Minister Phuc applauded the success of the 4th session of the Italy - Vietnam Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation and the Italy - Vietnam Business Forum, and recommended the two countries intensify economic and trade cooperation in a bid to lift up bilateral trade. While suggesting Italian firms increase investments in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Prime Minister pledged the Vietnamese government will create favourable conditions for Italian investors. He listed a number of fields for bilateral cooperation, including tourism, green technology, transport, and infrastructure and stressed the need to open a direct air route between Italy and Vietnam.

The Vietnamese leader also urged both sides work closely to implement the 2017-2018 action plan on strategic partnership, continue organising strategic diplomatic and defence dialogues, and carry out activities marking 45 years of diplomatic ties. Italian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ivan Scalfarotto  said  Italian government and businesses highly evaluated Vietnam’s policy and economic growth. Scalfarotto said the exchange of high-ranking delegations between the two countries showed Italian’s interest in Vietnam, adding that the official signing of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (FTA) would stimulate economic, trade, and investment relations between the EU and Vietnam as well as between Italy and Vietnam.

Italian business delegation this year included almost 130 businessmen from 53 Italian companies, 6 industrial and trade associations, 4 banks who are looking for investment and cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese counterparts. Speaking at the opening ceremony of Business Forum Italy-Vietnam in Hanoi,  Italian Ambassador to Vietnam, Cecilia Piccioni, said that the “Italian Business Mission to Vietnam 2017” reflects the two countries’ efforts to realise the commitments between the two countries’ leaders to increase co-operation in various fields, including infrastructure and transport, power generation and renewable energy, machinery and technologies among others. More than 600 business-to-business meetings between Vietnamese and Italian enterprises have been organised in Hanoi on Tuesday to help the two countries’ firms seek partners in numerous sectors. On Wednesday, the business mission will have discussion with Ho Chi Minh city local authorities on partnership for Italian businesses in this Vietnam’s business hub. The mission will end with B2B meetings with local businesses.
