University of Turin holds a Master in artificial intelligence

Our region is a depository of a long tradition in this field, which started as part of the Artificial Intelligence Group of Olivetti in the 90s and continues today with the new Masters curriculum in "Artificial Intelligence and Computer Systems" taught by the Department of Computer Science of the University of Turin, which hosts one of the largest research groups in AI in Italy". "Artificial Intelligence is the real engine of current economic growth", added Massimiliano Cipolletta, President of the ICT Group and Vice President of the Turin Industrial Union, and it "expresses a growing demand for professional skills that the Digital Skills Computing Center indicates is an average of more than 26%, with a peak of 90% for new Digital Transformation activities. In this context, the idea of a Masters was born, entitled by Andrea Giacardi (Turin-born ICT entrepreneur), who has always believed and worked to strengthen the relationship between the University and Businesses". "In addition, the Masters is part of the Piedmonte Digital Innovation Hubs mission, which is to promote technology transfer and competitive growth of businesses, especially SMEs".A total of fifteen graduate students will be hired, on a high-level apprenticeship, by participating companies, who will be able to take part in Masters courses and be followed by University lecturers in their internship at the company. The Masters is starting in the autumn of 2017 and has a two-year duration. It is mainly aimed at graduates in computer science, but also those in engineering, physics, maths and economics who are less than 30 years old. Students/workers completing the apprenticeship will attend 400 hours of lessons, taught by University teachers and experts in the world of industry, and will complete 800 hours of on-the-job training followed by University tutors. The companies involved so far include Agile lab, aizoOn, Blue Reply, CELI, Consoft Sistemi, Loquendo (Nuance), Scai Innovation, Augeos.
