UnescoAlfano, "Alba, Carrara, Pesaro, Milan are creative cities"

 Angelino Alfano

Rome - "Four more Italian cities - Alba, Carrara, Pesaro and Milan - are joining UNESCO's creative cities network. This is a significant award for Italy, which bears witness to the fact that in addition to our cultural heritage, creativity is also a key component of our country's outside image, confirming our role of Culture superpower", these were the worlds of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano. Among the Italian nominees, Alba was appointed for its cooking; Carrara for its crafts; Pesaro for music and Milan for literature. Milan, which is also a candidate city to host the EU Pharmaceutical Agency, has thus achieved another important step, with the UNESCO nomination of creative city for literature, which further cements its international reputation. "This result confirms the primary role that our country plays within UNESCO", said Alfano, highlighting that "this achievement adds to Italy's record presence in the list of world heritage approved by the Paris-based organization".
