Ankara - The Worldwide Italian Cookery Week begins its second edition, with the aim of promoting Italys culinary and wine & gastronomy traditions on an international level as distinctive signs of the countrys identity and culture. In Ankara, the cookery week begins on November 16, with a show-cooking event by the chef and meat-carving maestro Dario Cecchini.

This year, as well as the collaboration with Italian chefs, restaurants, catering companies and cookery schools, the Italian Embassy in Ankara is also focusing on Italian gastronomic jewels and geographical indication certificates. This involves hosting a conference  in collaboration with Turkeys brands and patents office and the Grana Padano Tutelage Consortium  on local and Italian best practices in terms of collective branding, plus an olive oil workshop/tasting event. A special note, among various events, on the academic seminar on Italian cinemas relationship with food, the screening of Ermanno Olmis "Rupi del Vino", and the photojournalist Piero Castellanos exhibition on Mediterranean diet. There will also be a special evening devoted to the association between Italian music and food, with jazz and swing rhythms from the Larry Franco Quartet.

The entire program is part of the Italian governments special Made in Italy promotion plan, aimed at boosting the distribution and commercial penetration of genuine Italian quality agrifood products, and is also integrated with the goals of the Strategic Tourism Plan, focused on highlighting parts of Italy that are less well-known internationally.
