Tourism: 9.5m for Ryanair and Mistral to lift off brand Abruzzo

Pescara - The Abruzzo Region has awarded three tenders, totaling EUR 9.5 million over five years, to promote the region as a tourist destination with the help of airlines. The total budget for brand Abruzzo is EUR 12.5 million. The first awards of the four-part tender were granted to air carriers Ryanair and Mistral Air. The Region's promotional campaign will use local press, banners on websites, advertising material distributed on board, the Abruzzo Region's logo on the planes' headrests, logo stickers on the overhead compartments and sweet and savory snacks produced by local companies served on board. Furthermore, short films are under production to showcase the beautiful landscapes on Abruzzo at the boarding gates, with a view to increasing tourist flows.
