Slow Food:  Petrini  in China to launch "Menu for Change"

Turin - On the occasion of the seventh Slow Food International Congress held in Chengdu, China, from September 29 to October 1, Slow Food launched "Menu for Change", the first global communication and fundraising campaign on food and climate change. Carlo Petrini, President of Slow Food, when addressingthe 400 delegates representing the Slow Food and Terra Madre network from 90 countries, stated that "global warming is a reality, not a problem for the distant future, and we can already see the effects it has today". We must all intervene, for example by eliminating waste, especially food waste. Every year, European citizens waste 179 kg of food per capita.Food waste produces 3.3 billion tons of greenhouse gas."
