SicilyTemple Valley 2.0, excavations and discoveries live on FB

 Agrigento

Agrigento - Excavations resume in the area of the ancient theater of Agrigento, with the aim of investigating the theater floor plan and construction features. Once again, the work site will be open to visitors during excavation work, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9 and 12, to follow research progress under the guidance of archaeologists. Access to the site will be from the pathway adjacent to the entrance to the Quartiere Ellenistico-Romano (Greek-Roman District), in contrada San Nicola. The principal novelties will also be illustrated each day with live footage by the investigation leaders on Facebook. This initiative is also part of the cultural activities in view of the major event in 2020, to celebrate the 2600 year-anniversary since the Foundation of Akragas. Agrigento, candidate for the Italian Capital of Culture 2020, is preparing for the event, promoting participation in highly appealing cultural activities open to all.
