Florence - Italy's first "bionic engineer" graduated in Pisa, in the Ulisse Dini auditorium of the School of Engineering of the University. Born in Barletta in 1983, Francesco Lanotte discussed his final dissertation on the development of a new control algorithm for the lumbar support of a robotic exoskeleton, obtaining a degree with honors in "Bionics Engineering". One of the first students to enroll in 2015 in the newly-established degree program created thanks to the collaboration between the University of Pisa and Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Francesco completed his two-year study plan with brilliant results. During the preparation of his dissertation, he had the support of Professor Nicola Vitiello and researcher Simona Crea, both from Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, and professor Giovanni Vozzi, from the University of Pisa.
