Doha - A Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra concert (QPO), performed by two Italian renowned international celebrities, maestro Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli and soprano Silvana Froli, marked the grand finale of the Italian Week in Qatar.
The concert, held at the Qatar National Convention Centre, showcased music of Italian composers, Giacomo Puccini, Gioachino Rossini and Giuseppe Verdi. It was attended by Italian ambassador Pasquale Salzano and QPO director Kurt Meister, among other dignitaries and guests.
"Qatar is becoming an international hub for culture and the outstanding programme of QPO is a testimonial of this achievement", Italian Chamber of Commerce said in a statement. The Italian Week, organised by the Italian embassy in Doha in co-operation with Italian Chamber of Commerce and Italian Trade Agency, offered an array of events from art to fashion, to culture and cuisine.
