Qatar donates 5.6 mln for new school in earthquake-hit town
Rome - The Qatar Sovereign Fund has donated 5.6 million euros to Italy as a contribution to the design and construction of a new school complex in Macerata. The relative Memorandum of Understanding was signed yesterday morning in the Green Room in Palazzo Chigi by the Commissioner for post-2016 earthquake reconstruction, Vasco Errani, and Ambassador Khalifa Bin Jassim Al-Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development. Also present were Abdulaziz Bin Ahmed Al Malki, Qatars Ambassador in Italy, and Simone Petroni, councilor to the Italian Foreign Ministry. "My thanks, and that of our government stated Errani go to His Highness the Emir and to the government of Qatar, who have been close to us from the beginning. Among various possible investments, generously offered to the areas worst hit by the earthquake, the choice was made to focus on a major schools hub in Macerata." The donation will be integrated by Italian reconstruction funding. "Technologically, this will be a highly advanced hub emphasized the Commissioner which will feature a vital educational infrastructure but also contain invaluable facilities for handling eventual future emergencies".
