Pope Francis to visit Bangladesh and Myanmar from November 27th

Vatican City - "Welcoming the invitation of the respective Heads of State and Bishops, His Holiness Pope Francis will make an Apostolic Visit to Myanmar from November 27 to 30, 2017, visiting the cities of Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw, and to Bangladesh from November 30 to December 2, 2017, visiting the city of Dhaka." This was announced by Greg Burke, Director of the Holy See Press Office, adding that "the program for the visit will be published shortly."

The logo for the visit to Myanmar is a heart in the colors of the two flags: yellow and white for the Vatican and yellow, green and red for Myanmar. The motto is 'Peace and love', since there cannot be peace without love. The heart contains not only the figure of Pope Francis with a white dove (messenger of peace) but also the profile of Myanmar with rainbow colors, indicating the country's multi-ethnic nature (8 major tribes and 135 other ethnic groups with different languages, dialects and cultures). The heart shape stands for love, which is the common ground of Christianity and Buddhism.
