Milan - Pirelli returns to the Stock Exchange "stronger than ever". These were the words of Marco Tronchetti Provera during the ceremony for the brand's return to the Stock Exchange. "This is a happy day for Pirelli", the CEO continued, as he thanked the 250 international investors and 35 thousand Italian investors. He went on to say "This is an ongoing process". "We build the future, and we shall continue to do so for our shareholders and for our families". "We have made history for over 145 years, while imagining the future", Tronchetti wrote in the listings book. The CEO of Borsa italiana (the Italian Stock Exchange), Raffaele Jerusalmi, was joined on stage at the end of the ceremony by the governor of Lombardy Roberto Maroni, and by the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, to whom Tronchetti donated a miniature version of a tire featuring the colors of the Italian flag. Listing on the Stock Exchange is "a goal we have managed to achieve in record time", Tronchetti explained to journalists, "so it is a great joy for the future of Pirelli: the brand returns to the Stock Exchange stronger than ever before, with a major plan, lots of technology and plenty of passion!". "We decided what the market wanted. We provided a range of prices, in a bid to offer a 'market-friendly transaction'", he explained. "Bids were more than twice the allocation, from highly reputed investors, with significant international presence, and this for us was a source of great pride", he continued. "Italy is undergoing a period of great focus, and Milan especially so", he went on, "participation in the IPO was extremely positive: technology and the Italian brand are a winning combination".
