Pink Floyd's bass player to perform at Circus Maximus

Pink Floyd's bass player to perform at Circus Maximus

Rome - Roger Waters, the bass player from Pink Floyd, will perform in Rome on 14 July. On the day, the Circus Maximus will again be transformed into a Rock arena, as it happened for other major music events (Bruce Springsteen, David Gilmour). The announcement was made in Rome today, and Mayor Virginia Raggi showed her satisfaction on her Facebook profile. The bass player will perform his spectacular "Us + Them" show. While waiting for this event, the Macro space in via Nizza will host from next January the exhibition "Their mortal remains", dedicated to the Pink Floyd, which was presented last week by Ms Raggi and the deputy Mayor and Culture Councilor, Luca Bergamo. Only 3 months after the 6 sold out concerts scheduled for April at the palasport in Milan and Bologna, Roger Waters will be back on the Italian stage. He will, however, perform a different production, a spectacular performance that so far has only been shown in Mexico City and at the Desert Trip Festival last year. The Pink Floyd's creative genious has decided to bring the show to Europe at last. Out of the 3 cities selected for this performance in the Old Continent, 2 are Italian. London will host the concert first, in Hyde Park, then Lucca and then, of course, Rome. The Italian cities have chosen some of their most picturesque space for the mega show: the Old Walls in the Tuscan City and Circus Maximus in Rome, where Waters will be back 5 years after performing 'The Wall' at the Olympic Stadium. The outdoor version of "Us + Them" includes some highly spectacular elements, beginning with an innovative stage that reproduces London's Battersea Power Station, and thus the cover of the 'Animals' album, a milestone of the Pink Floyd's production. In addition to the special effects, which include the legendary flying pig flying over the audience, among others, and a combat plan crashing against the stage, there will be a state-of-the-art sound system to provide a new listening experience for those in attendance. The name of the tour is taken from the track "Us and Them" from the record-selling "Dark Side of The Moon" album by the Pink Floyd. (AGI)Nick Mason. Raggi commented that "Rome is thus established as one of the best rocking cities in the world". (AGI)
