Moda e design: sinergia Milano-Regione per tre eventi in autunno

Milan - Three major events scheduled from September through November 2017, designed to enhance the synergy between enterprises, schools of fashion and design, and the creative professions. This program of initiatives open to the city of Milan will feature communication campaigns, fashion shows and training events to support and promote the fashion and design sectors, as well as meetings and discussions to understand market development trends and employment opportunities for students and young professionals. The program, laid out in a communication presented to the Regional Council by the Lombardy Region's Councilor for Economic Development Mauro Parolini, involves a partnership between the Lombardy Regional government and the Municipality of Milan aimed at supporting the fashion and design sectors. "These are the Regions most important sectors - Councilor Parolini pointed out - in terms of the number of jobs and added value they provide; they are pillars of the regional economy and identity, and synonymous with a degree of excellence that has won worldwide recognition for innovation and quality. This unique record achieved by Lombardy makes the Region, and Milan in particular, the most dynamic and internationally attractive hub in these sectors." "We are launching a specific partnership with the Municipality of Milan - added Parolini - in order to boost the development of these sectors even more by engaging the most representative associations in this field and by opening ourselves up to the city. The aim is to promote them as factors of attractiveness since supporting the economy linked to creativity also means enhancing the significant revenues created by tourism, trade and especially exports, which these sectors are continuing to generate for Milan and the whole region." "Three events involving the partnership between the Municipality of Milan and the Lombardy Region aimed at promoting young creative talents and the great manufacturing heritage of craftsmanship, enterprise and creativity that characterize Italian made Fashion and Design products." This is how the initiative was described by the Councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities, Trade, Fashion and Design of the Municipality of Milan Cristina Tajani, who pointed out that "through these initiatives, we seek to foster mutual dialogue between training institutions, small and medium enterprises, and young professionals so as to strengthen Milans position as the international showcase and hub of the wealth in know-how, creativity and skills that is the envy of the world." The details of the events featured in the program are: -September 26, 2017 - 'Magazzini Aperti on tour - Milano' (Open Stores on tour - Milan) at the Fabbrica del Vapore: the initiative aims to promote collaboration between the region's enterprises, fashion schools and creative professions in the textile, clothing and accessories sectors. The event will take place during Milan's 'Fashion Week - women's fashion' and will include workshops with experts from the fashion world and catwalks featuring garments created by the students from schools in the Metropolitan city of Milan and by established fashion designers. -October 2017 - 'Progetto Design Competition - Condivisione' (Design Competition Project - Sharing): the initiative will be held during 'Fall Design Week' (October 7-15) and will feature the exhibition of the forty prototypes created by young designers working in partnership with established professionals and companies from the sector. -November 5-8, 2017 - 'Fashion Italia Graduate' at Base Milano: a four-day initiative open to the city aimed at providing career guidance to young people who are developing their professional skills and a talent scouting opportunity to professionals and companies operating in the sector from among students and new graduates from fashion schools across Lombardy.
