Made in Italy: The Bridge opens a second store in South Korea

Florence - After Piquadro's acquisition last December, The Bridge confirms the positive trend already confirmed by the Group's consolidated financial statements and achieves an important result: the opening of a second boutique in South Korea.

This was the content of a note issued by the group. In response to the great appreciation shown by evolved and sophisticated consumers, the brand founded in Florence in 1969, renowned especially for producing bags and briefcases made of the finest leather from Tuscany, has just inaugurated its new store in the historic town of Suwon, thirty kilometers form Seul, in the country's most populated area. The boutique is located within the AK Plaza shopping center, a reference point for the entire region, as it is integrated in Suwon's train station. The franchising, whose furnishings include some The Bridge armchairs, historic artisanal pieces of the Florentine company, is owned by the same distributor who, in October 2016, opened the first The Bridge single-brand store in Korea within the luxury shopping mall "Starfield Hanam".

The Bridge's commercial development in Asia started a few years ago with the opening of boutiques and shops-in-shops, not only in South Korea, but also in China (Shanghai and Beijing), Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Myanmar. "I believe The Bridge brand has great growth potential abroad and I am sure that the most advanced Asian markets are the best development ground for a product that reflects all Made in Italy's values, from the artisanal manufacturing to the high quality of the materials", said Marco Palmieri, President and CEO of Piquadro. With its iconic full-grain leather collections and Anglo-Tuscan style, for 50 years The Bridge has represented Tuscany's traditional leather production based on Florentine artisan manufacturing techniques and the use of the best Italian leather treated using vegetable tannins, hand-dyed with wool and polished with amber reels to obtain a leather with a lively and shiny look that, with time, acquires an unmistakable and absolutely unique worn-effect charm.
