Made in Italy: mozzarella from Campania to Germany

Capri,- The international promotional campaign promoted by the Consortium for the protection of DOP Buffalo Mozzarella, reaches Germany. Between Saturday 7 and Wednesday 11 October, the "white gold" will take part in one of the most important international trade fairs of the sector, Anuga, in Cologne. Germany is a strategic country for the sector, as it is the second European export market, with a 27.25% share, immediately after France, who leads the field.
The Consortium will be present as part of the group promoted by Afidop (DOP cheese association), together with Asiago, Gorgonzola, Grana Padano, Parmigiano Reggiano, Pecorino Romano and Caciocavallo Silano. The event, which has reached its 34th edition, will be attended by 7,200 exhibitors from 100 Countries and by approximately 160,000 buyers from across the world. During interactive cooking shows, professionals of the sector will receive detailed information about all production stages and the possible different uses of the seven DOP cheeses. Renowned pizzaiolo Franco Pepe, from Caiazzo, who is introducing his pizza research to an international audience, will be among the protagonists of the event.
Every day, between 12.00 h and 15.00 h, he will present a cooking show to highlight the possible combinations of the 7 cheeses, and will prepare a special pizza with each one of the DOP products, including the "Margherita Sbagliata" that enhances the taste of buffalo mozzarella DOP from Campania (with Buffalo Mozzarella DOP from Campania, Riccio tomatoes, basil reduction) and the "Scarpetta", in honor of Grana Padano (cream of Grana Padano DOP, tomato compote, lyophilized basil pesto, Grana Padano flakes).
