Milan - Alessi has launched its flagship store on Tmall Global (alessi.tmall.hk), the B2C platform of Alibaba Group. This long-standing company based in Piedmont, a market leader in Italy in the production of designer objects, has joined the more than 150 Italian stores already present on Alibaba's platforms. The Alibaba-Alessi partnership is part of the strategy of the world's largest online marketplace, aimed at offering quality "Made in Italy" products, such as those produced by the world-known leader in the design sector, to 466 million Chinese consumers. Christina Fontana, Business Development Director of Alibaba Italia, commented: "We are very proud to announce the launch of the Alessi store on Tmall Global, especially since Alessi has always been a symbol of excellence and a benchmark in the furniture&design sector. Alessi's products, in particular their shapes and colors, are very popular among Chinese consumers." She also added: "Thanks to this project, we can continue to reach hundreds of millions of Chinese consumers, offering them the most exclusive Italian products. The newly opened Alessi store is the first one in a key sector for our country." Marco Pozzo, CEO of Alessi, states: "A cutting-edge market such as the Chinese one, with both digital and e-commerce platforms, cannot be tackled alone. We look forward to starting this adventure on Tmall Global with Alibaba, a leader in online commerce, so that we can bring our products and introduce our brand and design culture to Chinese customers, who are becoming increasingly interested in purchasing stylish items for their homes. It is now time for us to strategically enter the Chinese market through different channels. This partnership will provide opportunities to share Alessi's unique brand values, but it will also grant us access to data that we can use to better understand the needs and preferences of Chinese consumers. I am very optimistic about the results that we can achieve, and I would like to thank Alibaba for supporting companies, which, like us, believe in 'Made in Italy'."
