Indonesia is a fast growing market for Leonardo, thanks to a new order for two intermediate light AW169 helicopters for corporate travel. The first such models to be ordered in Indonesia, the helicopters will be delivered by the end of 2018. A further AW139, managed by the airline company Travira for offshore operations, is due for imminent delivery, as well as two AW119Kx ordered by NUH for firefighting and air rescue. As noted in a company press release, Leonardo "further expands its presence in the country, with a helicopter fleet growing by 100% each of the last 3 years". The new orders and deliveries are added to the range of models already used for many tasks, thus highlighting the flexibility of the products manufactured by Leonardo. For example, the intermediate AW139 helicopter is managed by the BASARNAS government agency for search and rescue missions, other AW139 are used for offshore activities and a mix of light single and two-engine helicopters are used for passenger transport. Leonardo is also active in several government and military programs in the country, in the Navy defense and the satellite monitoring system.
