Rome - The Green Economy's General Assembly 2017 will be held in Rimini on 7 and 8 November, mapping the Italian way towards the Green Economy. A ten-point strategy put together by the National Council on the Green Economy, which consist of 66 Italian companies, will be presented to the country's political leaders. Anticipating the forthcoming elections, this is a detailed program, and the ensuing debate will see the Minister of the Environment Gian Luca Galletti, Simona Bonafe' (Pd), Luigi Di Maio (M5S), Stefano Parisi (Energie per l'Italia), Claudia Maria Terzi (Lega Nord). In Italy, the green economy is already significant: according to a 2015 survey by the Foundation for Sustainable Development - which collaborated with the General Assembly - already 27.5% of core-green industry businesses are involved (companies supplying environmental goods and/or services), and 14.5% of go-green businesses (companies applying green business models in any sector). The program planning the transition to a Green Economy sketches the strategic vision for some of the key challenges of our era, identifying priority issues and proposing policy and actions to address them.
