Israel: role of Italy in the preservation of Acre's architectonic

Tel Aviv - For the series "The Italian connection" the hidden and the visible in ancient Akko, a lecture and guided tour dedicated to the role of Italy in the preservation of Acre's architectonic, artistic and archaeological heritage. Today, 17-19:30 at International Conservation Center - Citta' di Roma, Rehov Salah El Basri, Old City. Lecturer: Avner Hilman, archaeologist and conservator. The Beginning of buildings preservation in ancient Akko by the Israel Antiquities Authority 25 years ago, with an in-depth look at the wooden specifications and the painted ceilings of the effendi houses in Acre. The encounter with the buildings condition, the experiments that where made and the insights that followed, and the experts from Venice who brought their conservation world. 
At the end of the lecture we will tour the House of Arts and the Effendi Hotel.
