Innovation: robots and entertainment, focus at Pisa Festival

Rome - Robots that entertain. To explore the relation between robotics and art, the program of the International Robotics Festival (September 7-13, 2017, Pisa  City of Technologies), includes a number of different initiatives. The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Pisa, Fondazione Arpa, the BioRobotics Institute of Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and the "E.Piaggio" Reserch Centre; scientific co-sponsors: Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore, National Research Council, Irccs Stella Maris, Endocas Center of excellence of the University of Pisa. Within the main topic of Art and Robots, Robotic Art and Robotic Technologies for entertainment, are two of the fields of inquiry of the festival  explains Massimo Bergamasco, professor of Applied Mechanics at Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. It is an area that, in recent years, has seen a number of experimentations, both in Italy and abroad. As a consequence of the collaboration with important national institutes in Tuscany, such as Fondazione Carnevale di Viareggio, Parco di Pinocchio in Collodi and Accademia Teatrale di Firenze, the event includes a discussion with them about the state of art and its future developments'.
