Idea Taste of Italy joins Botter and aims for Stock Exchange

Milan - Idea Taste of Italy, an Italian fund specialized in the agrifood sector and managed by Dea Capital Alternative Funds sgr (De Agostini group) has invested in Casa Vinicola Botter vineyards, which was established in Fossalta di Piave in 1928 and is currently the seventh largest wine producer in Italy in terms of wine production turnover. In 2017 Casa Vinicola Botter sold around 86 million bottles, achieving a turnover of near 180 million Euro (a figure that has tripled over the last 10 years) and an EBITDA of approximately 24 million, supplying the major international distribution chains with a portfolio of wines that embraces the principal regions and denominations in Italy with a focus on Prosecco, Pinot Grigio and Primitivo. A note reads that the investment by Idea Taste of Italy is in keeping with the Botter family's desire further to speed up business growth in foreign markets, especially the United States and China, with the aim of becoming listed in the Stock Exchange in the medium term. Annalisa, Alessandro and Luca Botter, exponents of the third generation of the family, retain a share of control over the company and will continue to manage the business, while the Idea Taste of Italy fund, with its own 22.5% shareholding, will support a strategy of targeted acquisitions across Italy.
