Turin - "Rome, Italy and the world, from the Dolce Vita till today, an exhibition that aims to document, from an innovative angle and with images never published before, the long and colorful work of the 'Paparazzi'". So, the president of Camera, the Italian Center for photography in Turin, Emanuele Chieli, on September 12, presented the premiere of the exhibition "Arrivano i Paparazzi! Fotografi e divi dalla Dolce Vita a oggi (Here come the Paparazzi! Photographers and stars from the Dolce Vita till today)", which will be open to the public between 13 September and January 7. The exhibition, Chieli explained, "aims at revealing the history and role played by "stolen photographs", able to influence costumes, trends and sometimes the destiny of the people caught on camera. A new event within the scope of Camera's work, as always supported by its partners, who include Intesa Sanpaolo, Eni, Lavazza, Reda e Compagnia di San Paolo". This exhibition, added the director of Camera, Walter Guadagnini, "shows Via Veneto's buzzing life in the 1960s, but it also features personalities such as Brigitte Bardot, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Lady D, Silvio Berlusconi, caught by the Paparazzi in private situations, which, maybe, they would have preferred the public not to see. In fact, the exhibition takes shape from the time when the Paparazzi a phenomenon that originated in Rome in the second half of the 1950s, in connection with the world of cinema started publishing images of the movie stars of that time, which included Tazio Secchiaroli, Marcello Geppetti, Elio Sorci, Lino Nanni, Ezio Vitale. The exhibition continues exploring the Paparazzi's work over the years with new themes, as explains Francesco Zanot, who curated the event together with Guadagnini, "the radical change in communications started in the digital era, which changed once again the landscape of this "genre"; and at the same time the subjects of the photos changed, as it's not so much the movie stars who attract the attention of photographers, but the people in power, within the world of politics, but not only".
