Eataly: 3,900 square-meter space to open in London in 2020

Eataly: 3,900 square-meter space to open in London in 2020

Eataly is to open its first venue in the UK in London in 2020. Eataly has signed a lease agreement for a space spanning over 3,900 square meters on the first floor of number 135, Bishopsgate. Visitors will be able to eat, buy and learn under one roof: the venue will in fact house restaurants, cafs, quick service facilities and workshops for live production and a cooking school. In the same building, the Italian firm will also run a cafeteria and a catering service dedicated to the many offices. "Eataly's decision to open in Broadgate - states Claire Barber, head of Central London Retail and Meadowhall, British Land - is of great support to British Land's strategy to create an even livelier international neighborhood. Together with the arrival of the Elizabeth Line this year and the top-quality trade space in 2019 at number 100, Liverpool Street, the presence of Eataly will make Broadgate an unmissable destination for both Londoners and outsiders". "Visiting London's historic Borough Market before inaugurating the first Eataly in Italy - explains Luca Baffigo, the CEO of Eataly - was a source of great inspiration for our concept. For this reason, returning to London and bringing with us a place to buy, eat and learn is a very significant and exciting achievement for us. Being in a position to convey our idea in a place so rich in significance fills us with pride and satisfaction, driving us to put together a truly exceptional Eataly for this city".
