Cinema: Italy on screen today, tribute to Dario Fo in New York

Rome - A tribute to Dario Fo, one year after his death and twenty years after his Nobel prize for literature, is taking place in New York on 19 and 20 October, within 'Italy on Screen Today', a review of Italian cinema showing the greatest box office hits with actors and directors sharing memories and anecdotes from their films with the public, from 18 to 22 October. The tribute to Dario Fo consists of the documentary 'Dario Fo and Franca Rame: A Nobel for two', directed by Lorena Luciano and Filippo Piscopo, and the movie 'Sweet Democracy', by new director Michele Dioma', featuring Fo. Directors Lorena Luciano and Filippo Piscopo will share their special memories of Dario Fo with the public. With Loredana Commonara as artistic director, supported by Giuliana Ridolfi Cardillo in New York and coordinated by Sarah Masten, Italy on Screen Today boasts some of the best locations in the "Big Apple": the Proshansky Auditorium, New York University's Casa Italiana Zerilli Marino' and Stony Brook University.
