Capital of Culture 2020: Treviso presents its candidacy dossier
Treviso - In the Bailo Museum, the city of Treviso presented the official dossier for its candidature as Italy's Capital of Culture for 2020.
"Today is a special day - said the citys mayor Giovanni Manildo - and the date is a crucial one: selected because tomorrow marks the reunion of the commission which will select the first 10 cities that will compete for the title. We are eagerly awaiting the result, along with all the associations, foundations, and scientific and organizational committees who contributed to creating the dossier. A document which is a major project for the city and for all its surrounding territory."
The dossier consists of 60 pages, and is the result of a coordinated effort from the various Associations and Foundations connected not only with culture, but also with the growth and development of Treviso."We are a candidate that aims to win, of course: but the most important thing is the project we have presented. A project of growth and development for Treviso, shared with many associations, which we intend to persevere in implementing", concluded the mayor.
