Bologna - FICO Eataly World, the largest Agri-Food park on Earth, currently in preparation in Bologna, will open to the public on November 15. The inaugural date has been decided by the Municipality of Bologna, project promotor, with FICO Eataly World the company directly managing the Park the FICO Foundation for Food and Sustainability Information, Prelios SGR, which has instituted and manages the PAI Fund (Parchi agroalimentari italiani) to finance its creation, and CAAB the Bologna Agri-Food Centre.

The Park will have no entrance fee and aims to attract millions of visitors from all over the world: promoting Italys premium gastronomic products... from the field to the fork! The projects facilities are nearly ready now, and will be completed in the coming weeks to ensure that everything is perfect by the opening date. Spread over 10 hectares and free of charge, the Fabbrica Italiana Contadina (hence FICO, meaning Italian Farmers Factory) will display the marvels of Italys biodiversity in 2 hectares of fields and stalls.

The other 8 hectares are covered, and contain over 40 bars and restaurants; various workshops and markets; an area devoted to sports, children, reading and services; 6 lecture spaces; 6 "educative merry-go-rounds" with theatres and cinemas; a modular congress centre to fit from 50 to 1,000 people, and a Foundation with 3 Universities.
