Achaemenid Iran, an International Conference in Naples
Monday 11 December will be inaugurated in the Nineteenth century Palace DuMesnil in Naples, seat of the Presidency of L’Orientale University of Naples, the SIE Mid-Term International Conference Achaemenid Studies Today, co-organized by L’Orientale, Societas Iranologica Europea (SIE) and ISMEO- International Association for Mediterranean and Oriental Studies (Rome).
This is a major 2017 international event in this field of studies, the studies on Achaemenid Iran (the Achaemenid dynasty is that to which the Great Persian Kings Cyrus, Darius and Xerxes belong), which will host in Naples during three days (11-13 december 2017) more than 30 major international scholars (archaeologists, philologists, historians), in a field in which Italy is at the forefront and holds a relevant number of archaeological and epigraphic missions jointly carried out together with major Iranian research centres and universities.
