Works by Michelangelo Pistoletto on show in London
Michelangelo Pistoletto - Venere degli stracci (1967)

(AGI) London, Sept. 28 - London has fallen in love with Michelangelo Pistoletto, where his works will be on show at the Blenheim Art Foundation until December 31. His solo exhibition, the artist's most comprehensive UK show to date, will showcase, among other works, "Il Terzo Paradiso", "Il Mappamondo", "Le Trombe del giudizio" and "Venere degli stracci". Paintings and sculptures as well as large-scale installations and new works made specifically for Blenheim Palace smoothly fit into the fabric of the Palace's eighteenth-century interiors and surrounding grounds, allowing visitors to explore the diverse range of his artistic career. Michael Frahm, Director of the Blenheim Art Foundation, said: "We are delighted to present the first UK retrospective of one of the most revered visual artists working today. It traces back to the early self-portraits which launched his career, leading all the way up to the new works which will be created for this show. Pistoletto's extensive and powerful career has been a major influence on contemporary art and modern thought. He is a counter-cultural figure who questions society and explores philosophy through a body of work which is witty, poetic and always unexpected." The event was co-organized with the Italian Cultural Institute in London. (AGI). .
