Uffizi display goes to Russia's Hermitage

Florence - A display of Federico Barocci's work "Noli me Tangere" was opened at the San Petersburg Hermitage Museum on Monday by Uffizi Gallery Director Eike Schmidt. The opening was also attended by Minister for Culture and Tourism Dario Franceschini. Hermitage Director Mikhail Piotrovsky expressed deep appreciation for Italy's museum reforms. He said: "Important changes are taking place in the Italian museum scene. [Mr] Franceschini's reform is revolutionising the system, and this is a good thing. Italy now represents a very interesting model.". (AGI)
