Russia-Italy aim to strengthen cooperation in healthcare

(AGI) Moscow, July 4 - Russia's Health Minister, Veronika Skvortsova, proposed on Monday to strengthen healthcare cooperation with Italy through the establishment of a working group to keep up with the latest standards and by organising exchange visits between specialists from the two countries. Speaking at the conference "La collaborazione in ambito sanitario: un ponte tra Russia e Italia" (Collaboration in healthcare: a bridge between Russia and Italy), hosted by the Italian Embassy in Moscow, Minister Skvortsova noted that there is already a close collaboration in the medical-healthcare field and thanked Italian colleagues for their assistance in updating Russian legislation on donations and transplants, reported the Ria Novosti agency. The meeting, opened by Italian Ambassador Cesare Maria Ragaglini, aims to illustrate Italy's excellence in the medical, hospital, and pharmaceutical sectors and the opportunities on the Russian market. There will also be sessions dedicated to topics such as investing in Russia and collaboration in the fields of hospital work, medical training, and "medical tourism". Among the participants were representatives of major Italian names in the sector: the San Donato and San Raffaele hospital groups; the Agostino Gemelli University Polyclinic; the Humanitas Clinical Institute; the European Institute of Oncology - Cardiological Institute of Monzino and Villa Stuart clinic; the Villa Maria Group (GVM); NGC Medical - Medtronic; and Angelini Pharma. (AGI). .
