Rimini Macfrut trade fair kicks off with 1,100 exhibitors

Rimini - The 2017 Macfrut Trade Fair will have a record-breaking 34th edition: eight pavilions covering a surface area of 50,000 square metres, up 100 percent in four years; a record number of exhibitors (1,100), with an exponential growth in term of international exhibitors (up 30 percent from last year); and 1,200 buyers from the four corners of the world. Rimini will play host to three days of events from May 10 to May 12, 2017, next to the main players in the fruits and vegetables sector, a mainstay of Italy's agri-food system.

The whole fruit and vegetable industry represents the second largest export sector with a value of approx. 5 billion euros. China will be this year's Partner Country, and Basilicata will be the Partner Region.

The 2017 MacFrut will showcase many new features related to innovation and internationalisation: 'Macfrut in the field', the 'Plant Revolution', future sales points, strawberries as the 2017 key fruit, and much more. The programme will feature about 50 conferences and seminars, as well as meetings and corporate conventions organized by exhibitors.
