(AGI) Prague, June 1 - Prague is celebrating Mantua, Italian capital of culture in 2016. On Wednesday evening, the Italian embassy in the Czech capital will host an event promoting the best of the Mantua province's art, architecture, gastronomy, culture and nature. The city of Mantua and the nearby town of Sabbioneta were inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2008. Wednesday's event is the brainchild of Ambassador Aldo Amati, the Vice President of the Province of Mantua, Francesca Zaltieri, and the director of the Ducal Palace Museum Complex, Peter Assmann. It was organised by the Italian Embassy, in collaboration with Moz-Art (Contemporary Art) the Better Mantua Committee and the Ducal Palace Society, under the patronage of the Municipality and the Chamber of Commerce of Mantua. The event finish with a workshop for Czech tour operators, who were invited for the occasion by the embassy, and an aperitif with the tasting of products from Mantua. "The combination of superb Renaissance beauty, artistic treasures like the House of Mantegna and the city's extraordinary culinary specialities, makes Mantua a real jewel that should be promoted here in the Czech Republic," said Ambassador Amati. "Prague, with its profound artistic sensitivity and passion for Italian food, will certainly give a very warm welcome to the guests from Mantua," he added. The Italian delegation includes the vice mayor of the municipality of Mantua, Giovanni Buvoli, the Councillor of the municipality of Volta Mantovana, Antonio Martelli, Sergio and Giuliano Pajola Vallani of MozArt, Claudio Bini of Better Mantua and Gianpiero Baldassari of the Ducal Palace Society.
