Nigeria commits to dualisation of Trans Saharan routes

(AGI) - Lagos 11 oct - The Nigerian Government has expressed commitment to the dualisation of Trans Saharan routes, which traverse Algeria, Tunisia, Chad, Nigeria, Niger and Mali. Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who made the disclosure in Abuja Monday expressed President Muhammadu Buhari's commitment, noting that future road projects in the country would be upgraded to double-lanes, adding "The efforts of the Federal Government are fully committed to the dualisation of the entire section of the Trans Saharan route in Nigeria. "The fact that out of a total length of 9,500km of the Trans Saharan Route, more than 8,000km of it has been surfaced with bituminous material, which is a great achievement and more is expected to maintain and ensure the serviceability to the benefit of member countries and its peoples."
