Today's meeting was meant to continue discussions on RENAMO's demand to govern in the six of the 11 country's provinces (Niassa, Nampula, Zambezia, Tete, Manica and Sofala provinces) where they obtained a majority of votes in the general elections in 2014, which results RENAMO rejected, claiming they were fraudulent. In the past the government has always rejected this demand and it has never been part of the dialogue agenda between the two parties.
