Kazakistan: Nazarbayev proposes free zone between Eeu and Sco

(AGI) - Astana, June 23 - The Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested establishing free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and Shanghai Cooperation Organization at its summit in Tashkent. "I have suggested the creation of free trade zone between Eurasian Economic Union and Shanghai Cooperation Organization. My proposal has been supported by Russia. If America and Pacific are created their free trade agreement, it is important to notice the creation of the third economic association, very strong and important", the Kazakh president noted. He also noted that it was important to avoid bureaucratization of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and becoming too hang loose like ASEAN. The Kazakh President also noted the importance of the China-led Silk Road Economic Belt and its influence on the overall region with the creation of transport networks from China to Europe and Iran.
