Kazakhstan to introduce visa-free regime for 48 countries in 2017

(AGI) - Astana, October 11 - Today the Minister for Industry and Development Zhenis Kassymbek revealed that Kazakhstan planned to launch visa-free regime for 48 countries (the OECD member states and 14 economically developed and political stable countries) starting from January 2017. The Minister noted that domestic tourism increased by 6% in the first six months of 2016. The Burabai resort, Almaty, Alakol and Bukhtarma are among the most popular destination for tourists in Kazakhstan. As Kazakhstan plans to host the International specialized exhibition Astana EXPO 2017, the government plans to focus on the development of tourist routes and improvement of transport infrastructure.(AGI) .
