Italo-Ukrainian 'Europe Gala' concert to be held in Kiev

Kiev - The Ukrainian capital will host the "Europe Gala" concert on May 20 to mark the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Italy and Ukraine and the Italian G7 Presidency.

The joint art project to be presented on Europe Day in Ukraine will enjoy the participation of famous Italian and Ukrainian artists: tenor Diego Cavazzin, saxsophonist Gaetano di Bacco and violinist Francesca Dego, soprano Ksenia Bakhritdinova and Oksana Kramarieva, mezzo soprano Anzhelina Shvachka, and bass player Sergii Kovnir. They will be accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra and Choir of the National Opera Theatre of Ukraine, under the direction of Mykola Diadiura, master of the Bogdan Plish choir. Maria Levytska will be responsible for the set decorations.

The programme will feature classic and contemporary composers - Ludwig van Beethoven, Gioachino Rossini, Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, Felix Mendelssohn, Edward Elgar, Giacomo Puccini, Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, Heorhiy Maiboroda, and Mikis Theodorakis. New works by Carol Ann Weaver and Roberto Molinelli will premiere at the event.
