Cagliari - Cagliari will host the 3rd edition of the International Trade Fair of Italo-Arab Enterprises (Borsa Internazionale delle imprese italo-arabe) on 17 and 18 March. This year's fair will offer a new format and will include approximately 10 Arab stakeholders, half of whom come from Gulf countries, three from the Near and Middle East and two from Africa. The Italo-Arab Chamber [of Commerce] has organised the event, with the agenda having been announced on Thursday in Cagliari during the conference "L'Italia e la sfida dei mercati arabi" [Italy and the Challenges of Arab Markets], which focuses on the internationalisation of enterprises. The Chamber of Commerce has announced that they will select 30 Italian firms and offer them a 'gold card'. This card will give access to meetings with investors from Arab countries taking place at the trade fair. Firms can apply for the card by sending an email to ccia.sardegna@gmail.com. Also, firms not receiving the gold card will be allowed to participate in seminars and workshops organised during the trade fair and will receive, from the relevant information desks, free advice from expert professionals in the international business promotion sector. The Italo-Arab Chamber of Commerce (cameraitaloaraba.org) was founded in 1972 and has been promoting economic cooperation and fostering trade relations with Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Comoros, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Djibuti, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Tunisia and Yemen. The vice president and managing director of the Chamber, Raimondo Schiavone, underlined that the institution offers, among the many services, an updated data bank. It contains over 10,000 names and addresses of Arab firms, catalogued by country and commercial sector.
