(AGI) Ascoli Piceno, May 25 - Sales of Italian footwear and leather goods products grew by 2 percent on the U.S. market in the first quarter of 2016, according to data provided by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), and its New York offices in particular. The figures were given during the 2016 internationalisation road show in Macerata. Exports to the U.S. rose by 5 percent in 2015. Overall, the U.S. market in the sector is worth 75 billion dollars, with women's shoes representing 53 percent of the total and men's 39 percent. Recently agreements have been reached between the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), Italian footwear sector association Assocalzaturifici and major U.S. retail partners, which will boost the number of sales channels of Italian brands. Promotional events are scheduled in New York for the MICAM footwear exhibition in Milan, as well as participation in trade fairs in the USA. (AGI). .
