(AGI) Maputo, Aug 29 - The 52nd FACIM (International Trade Fair), has begun in Ricatla, in the Marracuene District in Mozambique's Maputo Province. Thirty-three countries are taking part, including Ireland and Belarus for the first time. The president of the fair's organiser IPEX (Institute of Export Promotion), Joao Macaringue, said at least 2,350 Mozambican businesses and 630 foreign businesses are taking part compared to 2,250 and 680 last year. The high number of local and foreign exhibitors is a sign that Mozambique "continues to be a credible magnet for investors despite the many challenges it faces," he said. FACIM includes 12 pavilions covering 53,650 square metres. More than 87,000 visitors are expected. The Italian Trade Agency (ICE) organised Italian companies for the multi-sector fair, which ends on Sept. 4. "Italy's area will cover 270 square metres in total, with 25 Italian companies in construction and construction materials sectors, logistics and transport, agro-industry, and services," the ICE said.
