Italian artist paints mural for Karachi airport

(AGI) Karachi, Sept 7 - Italian artist Maurizio Boscheri has painted a mural at the Jinnah International Airport following the success of his exhibition in Karachi in August. Italy's diplomatic representation in Pakistan pointed out that all visitors will be able to see the mural while exiting the airport and be reminded of the deep bonds of friendship between the two countries. Pakistan's national animal, the markhor, stands out in relief at the centre of the mural. Mr Boscheri, a staunch wildlife defender, held his exhibition in Pakistan on the suggestion Italy's Consul General in Karachi, Gianluca Rubagotti. Entitled "Wildly Ours: Past, Present and Future of Pakistan's Wildlife" and curated by Mario Liberali, the August show featured 22 oil paintings on canvas with vivid images of snow leopards, tigers, wolves, and foxes.
