(AGI) Rome, June 7 - Inalca Food & Beverage, a subsidiary of Inalca Spa (Cremonini Group) specialising in the international distribution of typical Italian food products, has entered the Australian market with the acquisition of a majority stake of 60 percent in the companies Fresco Gourmet Pty Ltd and Itaus Pty Ltd. The companies, founded in 2003 by Antonello Brocca, who stays on as managing director, are specialised in the distribution of fresh&fine foods from all over the world, particularly from Italy, France, Spain and Greece. They have about 350 customers, including hotels, restaurants, restaurant chains and large retail chains, with clients such as Aldi, Woolworths, Costco, Harris Farm, Coles, David Jones and IGA. Inalca commented that the operation allows the company to grow rapidly on the Australian market, where imports of high-quality products are growing rapidly, especially from Europe. From Sydney, the company will gradually spread by opening new offices in other major cities. The new Australian acquisition fits perfectly into the strategy of Italian food and beverage exporters to grow on the fragmented Asian and Australian market, focusing on the high-end segment and ensuring a regular supply of Italian specialities to retail chains. Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines are also offering interesting opportunities for expansion. (AGI) . .
