Cologne - The famous saga, ' L'Amica Genaiale', by Elena Ferrante, which has become a literary phenomenon the world over, will soon land in Cologne. Actress Senta Berger will present the German translation of the first of Ferrante's four novels at the the WDR Funkhaus al Klaus-von-Bismarck-Saal on March 14.
Ms Berger will read passages from the novel both in German and in Italian. It is an event promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne on the occasion of the famous festival of contemporary literature, Lit. Cologne, that first opened in 2001.
