(AGI) Brussels, Aug. 19 - Dolce & Gabbana perfumes and cosmetics will soon become Japanese. The European Commission has given green light to the world exclusive licencing agreement of D&G beauty products to Shiseido. The Japanese personal care company will take over D&G's perfume and cosmetics sector through the French-owned company Beaute' Prestige International. According to the European Commission's Directorate General for Competition, the transaction "does not raise concerns" insofar as the comprehensive market share held by Dolce & Gabbana and Beaute' Prestige in the perfume and cosmetics market "will have limited consequences" on competition. In 2015 Dolce & Gabbana's cosmetics business generated net sales for 400 million euros. The brand is already very strong in the perfume sector and, with the Japanese personal care giant, it expects to also expand its make-up sector by developing skin care products based on Shiseido's advanced technological development potential. The agreement also aims to boost the presence of Dolce & Gabbana in the Chinese and Asian markets. (AGI) . .
