(AGI) Rome, June 10 - Eni has renewed its partnership agreement with "Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition" organising a series of events before the fourth European Maker Week, to take place in Rome on Oct. 14-16 at the Nuova Fiera di Roma. During the recent European Maker Week, which took place from May 30 to June 5, over 500 events dedicated to making and to the Internet of Things took place in Europe, placing Eni for the first time as one of the Main Partners of Maker Faire Rome. Within this framework, Eni met the community of makers and inventors on June 1st at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, during Call4Ideas - supported also by Maker Faire Rome 2016, Triennale di Milano and the "New Craft" exhibition. Maker Faire Rome organises, exclusively with Eni, a 24-hour hackathon on July 11-12 2016 at Milan's PoliHub, dedicated to renewable energies. The aim is to identify feasible original solutions using organic photovoltaic panels and luminescent solar concentrators, besides intelligent energy harvesting technologies - moving beyond traditional silicon-based photovoltaic methods. There will be prizes. Eni will later participate, together with Maker Faire Rome, in the CaterRaduno to take place in Senigallia, Italy, on July 4-9, with a space dedicated to the world of "makers", who will work with visitors of every age, using prototypes featuring with Eni solar technologies and educational laboratories on renewables.
