Eni partners with Mantua Literature Festival
 FestivalLetteratura

(AGI) Rome, Sept 6 - Eni is partnering with the 20th Mantua Literature Festival (Festivaletteratura), which will enliven the Italian city from Sept. 7 to 11 with a series of meetings, workshops, concerts and shows. Elected the Italian Culture Capital of 2016, Mantua will be a must-visit destination for literature lovers over the course of five days. The festival will feature meetings with authors, public readings and shows in historic and artistic locations. The Festivaletteratura will be opened by American writer Jonathan Safran Foer and closed by Edna O'Brien. Returning greats will include Julian Barnes, Jonathan Coe, Jay McInerney and Alain De Botton. Eni's partnership in the festival will occur with two events. The first, "Il Giallo", is a series of meetings with some of Italy's up-and-coming crime writers [and the Italian word for the crime genre, "giallo", is the same as for the colour yellow, which is Eni's distinctive colour, ed.]. The second, "Inedita energia", is a traditional talk on Gatto Selvatico, Eni's historic magazine founded by Enrico Mattei in the 1950s and edited by Italian poet Attilio Bertolucci. The talk will be led by actor Neri Marcore' and will focus on "discovery", a word with infinite variations in the fields of science, literature, technology and sports. This year's guests will include: Chiara Montanari, an explorer and the first Italian woman to have led an Antarctic expedition; Marinella Levi, a professor of Chemical Engineering and head of one of Italy's most prestigious 3D-printing laboratories; Antonio Manzini, an acclaimed crime novelist in Italy; and the manager of Italy's national football team, Giampiero Ventura. Eni's presence at the Festivaletteratura once again highlights the company's interest in Mantua's cultural scene, through its participation in one of the city's most popular events and the choice of "discovery" as a theme. "Discovery" has always been a part of Eni and is one of the main reasons for its accomplishments, both past and present, driven by men and women with an innate passion for energy and a calling for exploration. Know-how, determination, and courage: a mix that has always fueled Eni's explorers at every corner of the globe. (AGI). .
