Eni CEO meets Hammerfest mayor
 Descalzi (imago)

(AGI) Rome, June 10 - Energy company Eni's CEO Claudio Descalzi met the mayor of the Norwegian city of Hammerfest, Alf Jakobsenn, during his visit to the FPSO Goliat platform. During the meeting, which took place in a climate of mutual respect and cordiality, Hammerfest's mayor expressed his appreciation for Eni's notable efforts in protecting and safeguarding the environment, as well as its social initiatives. The mayor also recognised crucial technological innovations. The offshore platform, located approximately 80 km from Hammerfest, currently produces around 80,000 barrels of oil a day, 52,000 of them for Eni. Among the characteristics that make Goliat unique in terms of environmental awareness are the underwater cables supplying its electricity supply, meaning a 50 percent reduction in CO2 emmissions compared to other options, while the gas and water produced are reinjected into the oilfield. FPSO is also able to store 950,000 barrels of oil. Goliat will soon reach its production peak of 100,000 barrels of oil a day. (AGI). .
